This Page has been written to preserve a dying legacy. We Jews have always maintained our own cultural identity, and with that identity evolved a targum within each community. The two most widely know Jewish languages are Yiddish, and Ladino. Yiddish was used by the European or Ashkenazi Jews, while Ladino was used by the Spanish and oriental Jews. These two languages now face extinction. Much like Hebrew, the new generations are not learning the old languages, and as a result, they are falling out of use. I need your help to preserve these beautiful and poetic languages. I am looking for all book, any age or condition that are written in Hebrew, Aramaic, German, Russian, English, Yiddish Judeo Arabic or Ladino. I have found schools and synagogues throughout the country that desperately need this material to help educate future generations. These books are needed not only to teach the languages, but to derive benifit from the subjects of the books. Many are poetry, and Halacha, and many others explain beautiful customs and why we do what we do as Jews. If you would like to send books for the cause, feel free to send me an E-mail. I will respond as quickly as I can. If you would like to donate money to help subsidize the cost of me shipping the books that I recieve to the new recipients, please send an E-mail, and I will respond even quicker! If you have old books containing the sacred name that have outlived their usefullness, feel free to send them as well and I will ensure that they are properly Buried. Remember, the name in any language is still the name. If you or someone that you know needs a Torah repaired, or needs t'fillin or mezzuzzot repaired, also feel free to E-mail and I will put you in touch with a local Sofer, or will give you my prices. Sorry, I cannot pay any shipping and handling for items recieved..... only for outgoing items.
If you should wish to make a contribution to the cause of preserving this dying legacy, please go to the home page and find the donations link. We appreciate your concern for the history and the legacy of the Jewish people.
