Our family lineage can be traced from Adam ha rishon through Ananias ben Choni the great grandson of Shimon Ha-Tzadiq. After that, the temple was destroyed and with it, all geneological records, but we were able to find three generations later where the geneology picked up at the rival temple in Heliopolis, Egypt which was built by Choni Ha-Cohen IV when his father was assasinated (onias III) and he was exiled. The excavations have provided valuable insight into where the family and true heirs to the high priesthood picked up after they were ousted by illegitimate priests in the Macabbean revolt. Only three generations are missing, and the geneology can be traced all the way through to this very day with myself and my brother. I am interested in the lineage of any Levi or Cohen. All of my research will be forwarded to the research center in Jerusalem to be studied and verified for the purpose of finding valid levites and priests to serve in the third temple.
